About Monumental Labs
Monumental Labs (monumentallabs.co), a venture-backed company in New York, is building robot stone carving factories to unleash an art and architecture renaissance. We’re using robotics and AI to drive down the cost of stone fabrication, unleashing creative possibilities for artists and architects while sustaining a new generation of craftsmen. Our end goal: to build cities with the splendor of Florence, Paris, or pre-war New York, at a fraction of the cost.

In 2+ years, we’ve worked on the restoration of The Frick, Carnegie Hall, and The Villard Houses. We’re working on new buildings for major universities and with firms like Robert A.M. Stern Architects. We’ve completed fine-art commissions for major artists, for ultra-high net worth individuals, and for companies, churches and other institutions.

We’re currently at an inflection point as we move into a new HQ in Greenpoint where we will have 10x the production capacity. We can now take on massive projects, from monumental public monuments to structural stone buildings. And we intend to expand our presence across the country to meet demand in various geographies.

About the Role
We are hiring two new VPs to lead business development efforts in high-value verticals. We’re looking for relentless operators and relationship builders who can define a strategy and sell into complex markets. You will work directly with leadership to build a multi-million dollar backlog of stone projects.

VP 1: Architecture & Construction

Primary focus on multi-year large-scale building projects and city developments. You’ll work closely with developers of buildings and new cities to help them imagine building with stone as a structural and cladding material. You’ll become an expert and evangelist in the methods used for building in stone and coordinate with developers, architects, engineers, and building departments to bring unique buildings and neighborhoods into reality. The work will include developing partnerships with major builders where Monumental Labs locates a factory near the client for their fabrication needs.

VP 2: Sculpture & Design Markets

The focus will be uncovering new markets for stone sculpture and design and helping our team with outreach to artists, high net worth individuals, restorers, galleries and museums, with whom we already work closely. New channels to develop include:

• Interior Decorators/Furniture
• Landscape architects/exterior elements (gates, benches etc.)
• Institutions - universities, airports, hotels, etc.
• Public sculpture, involvingFederal, state, and local governments
• Organizations and donor networks
• Private developers
• Cemeteries

The BD Director will not only win and close deals, but manage the partnership with clients throughout the production process. You will develop expertise in our methods of fabrication so that you can propose and deliver solutions that meet client needs.

Qualifications
Candidates should demonstrate a history of successfully driving sales and partnerships in complex markets. For VP 1, experience operating in the built environment is a major plus. For VP 2, experience in the world of art and design is a major plus.

Location
We’re currently located in Mt. Vernon, NY but moving to a new 40k sq ft HQ in Greenpoint, Brooklyn in a few months. In-person preferred but open to remote for the right candidate.
