Description
In this role, you will lead and mentor a high-performing proposal team, foster a collaborative culture, and drive the development of dynamic, well-organized, and competitive proposal submittals. You will play a key role in shaping pursuit strategy, guiding teams through high-profile, collaborative delivery pursuits, and creating an environment where people can grow, succeed, and consistently deliver exceptional work.
As Division Lead, you will oversee a small team in our Southwest Region supporting collaborative delivery proposals for the second-largest heavy civil contractor in North America. You will be responsible for developing talent, identifying training needs, and elevating team performance while working closely and collaboratively with proposal teams across other divisions.
This role interfaces directly with Southwest Division executive leadership to maintain visibility into upcoming pursuits, align staffing plans, and ensure proposal resources are effectively deployed to support pursuit schedules and business objectives.
Bachelor's Degree in English, Marketing, Communications or a related field required.
8+ years’ project pursuit experience in construction or engineering industry required and a minimum 5+ years’ experience as proposal management highly regarded.
People management experience required in coordination of proposal teams/efforts.
Multitasking to take on a larger bid proposal or multiple proposals at one time.
Travel 10 – 30% of the year or remotely attend for pursuit meetings and Company proposal support.
Coach, guide and mentor direct reports while working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Proven time management and delegation skills to complete tasks under tight deadlines while adhering to Owner and Company pursuit requirements and timeframes.
Writes and edit project summaries, resumes of project personnel, and other supporting information.
Strong time management, task prioritization, attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills required to ensure timely submittal of project bids.
Knowledge or skill in graphic design highly regarded. Advanced knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Professional, Photoshop and InDesign.
Identify talent growth opportunities and assign work to develop internal team.
Proven ability to identify process gaps and recommend reasonable and streamlined approaches to serve the business.
