B.L. Harbert International, LLC (BLHI)has two main operating divisions: US and International. The US division is comprised of the commercial, healthcare, federal and civil sectors, each of which contributes to our strong portfolio of diversification and range of expertise. Both operating divisions of BLHI serve in the areas of preconstruction, general construction, construction management and design-build services of a variety of project types ranging from office buildings to condominiums, institutional buildings to healthcare facilities and industrial plants to government infrastructure. Much of our work in both the private and public sectors is for repeat clients, and we are committed to our company motto of “building a better way”.
Ranked among the top contractors in the country, BLHI boasts annual revenues exceeding $650 million, and ranks 74th in Engineering News Record’s Top 400 construction companies in 2010. BLHI is the top-ranked design-builder in Alabama and 41st in the nation, averaging $425 million in design-build work. We are consistently listed as one of the top green contractors in Alabama, ranked 23rd in the country in the sustainable construction arena with $3.1 billion in total green construction worldwide. BLHI has come to be known as a leader in the sustainable construction field with over thirty green buildings completed to-date, and with 30 accredited LEED professionals on staff.

B.L. Harbert International, LLC (BLHI) began operations in 2000 under the leadership of Billy Harbert, Jr., continuing a family tradition of excellence in the construction industry that dates back to the 1940s. We are proud to be one of the construction industry’s few family-owned companies with a worldwide portfolio of successfully completed projects large and small.
