Fluidity innovates and refines water design concepts uniquely for each project. This search for site-specific, meaningfully inspired design solutions is intended to invest places with artfulness, authenticity and value.
We believe in a work style of open and constructive collaboration with other project team members, drawing on the larger team’s expertise while working to establish a unified and strong vision for the design and its engineering.
Fluidity is committed to excellence in construction. We research finish materials, waterproofing systems, structures, and assemblies, and we keep up to date with industry developments in engineered products and systems. And, periodically, Fluidity goes to manufacturers with new product concepts for development.
We are dedicated to sustainable design methods, including strategies in water conservation, energy management, low carbon footprint assemblies, and reducing operations and maintenance costs
Company History
Founded in 2002, Fluidity Design Consultants is a leading edge, Los Angeles-based water feature design and engineering firm with an international practice. Fluidity’s work has been recognized for its creativity and design excellence by numerous awards, competition successes, publications and speaking engagements. The firm collaborates with many of the world’s most respected architects, landscape architects, planners, institutions and developers in the realization of socially significant and exciting environments for many kinds of projects.
The company is staffed by a balanced team of architects, designers and engineers, led by founding Principal James A. Garland AIA, whom participates in the development of all Fluidity’s projects.
