GWWO is a thriving architectural practice serving cultural and education clients nationwide from our offices in Baltimore, Maryland, and West Hartford, Connecticut. Through our work, GWWO strives to enrich the human experience through inspirational, evocative, and responsible design. We achieve this through focusing on cultural and educational facilities with an emphasis on life-long learning; exploring new approaches to innovative problem solving; cultivating enduring relationships with our clients; respecting our historic and natural resources; and fostering a creative work environment that offers growth, fulfillment, and professional satisfaction.
The firm’s design excellence has been recognized with over 100 local, state, and national awards, including the 2020 and 2021 AIA Maryland Public Buildings of the Year. A selection of our most recent achievements includes Editors’ Pick for Best of Practice by The Architect’s Newspaper; ranking by ARCHITECT Magazine as a top firm in sustainability two years running; designation as a leading designer of museums, galleries, and cultural facilities by Building Design + Construction; and dozens of Best Places to Work awards based on employee feedback.
