Mason, Bruce & Girard, Inc. (MB&G) has been providing natural resource consulting services to public and private sector clients in the Pacific Northwest for over 80 years. MB&G’s principal office is in Portland, Oregon and has a staff of more than 50 natural resource professionals; MB&G provides resource management and environmental permitting expertise for both small and large-scale projects throughout the western United States.

MB&G’s Environmental Services staff specializes in such technical disciplines as fisheries biology, water quality, aquatic ecology, hydrology, wildlife biology, botany, and wetland science. The firm has extensive experience assisting clients with regulatory compliance issues associated with the Endangered Species Act (ESA), Clean Water Act (CWA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other federal, state and local environmental regulations. MB&G’s staff has extensive experience collecting and analyzing scientific data needed to establish baseline conditions and to determine the likely environmental effects of proposed actions.

MB&G’s Forestry Services staff assists clients with timberland management, forest inventory and biometrics, timber harvest planning, financial planning for management of forestry properties, expert testimony, and valuation and appraisal of timber and timberland. The firm also helps manage a number of small to large forest properties in Oregon and Washington. Forest management work includes forest inventory, timber sale preparation, long-range harvest scheduling and financial analysis, supervision of reforestation, cultural treatments, and harvest. MB&G also develops and markets software for timber cruising and managing stand-based forest inventory data.

MB&G’s Geographic Information System (GIS) Services staff provides a complete range of GIS solutions to our clients. MB&G employs a full range of ESRI GIS solutions, including ArcGIS, ArcInfo, ArcView, and ArcPad. We specialize in spatial analysis, environmental modeling, database development and integration, and custom cartography. MB&G departments are fully backed with custom spatial workplans and technical support. Application development includes custom programming in ArcGIS, ArcView 3.x, and MapObjects.
