Company History

Rhodeside & Harwell is a woman-owned practice established in 1986 by the notable partnership of Dr. Deana D. Rhodeside, Faye B. Harwell, and Elliot Rhodeside. These nationally recognized professionals have distinct but complementary interdisciplinary skills. Dr. Rhodeside specialized in urban studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her expertise includes urban and environmental planning, programming, and research. Ms. Harwell and Mr. Rhodeside were both formally trained in landscape architecture at the University of Pennsylvania, and have over 30 years of professional experience. Ms. Harwell specializes in landscape architecture for urban, suburban, and rural settings; while Mr. Rhodeside’s range of expertise includes large- and small-scale landscape planning and design, environmental planning, and urban design.
