Southway is a construction management firm serving public, private and non-profit clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic. Founded in 1991, Southway delivers award-winning historic restoration, commercial, multi-family, adaptive re-use and institutional projects. Headquartered in Baltimore, our firm is strongly rooted in the communities in which we serve.

We are a diverse team of professionals, who have managed over 7 million square feet of commercial projects and over 6,000 multi-family units — all with an outstanding safety record. We consistently achieve the highest level Diamond Safety Award from ABC’s national STEP Program and maintain one of the lowest experience modification rates (EMR) in our industry.

Company History
Southway was founded in 1991 to provide professional construction management services to affordable housing developers, which is still a key area of focus today and expanded to include market rate, student, and senior housing. In 2001, we expanded our portfolio and began a commercial division and have grown our expertise to include adaptive reuse, historic preservation, occupied renovations, and new construction for a vast array of community-centric projects such as schools, maker spaces, workforce development centers, public safety, and performing arts.

HEALTH INSURANCE
Southway Builders offers medical coverage through two (2) High Deductible Health Plans (HDHPs) – an in-network only plan and a plan that offers both in-network and out-of-network coverage. The company pays 100% for employees only if enrolled in the in-network plan. Dental and Vision coverage is also available.
HEALTH CLUB REIMBURSEMENT
Southway Builders promotes a balance between work and personal time as well as an overall healthy lifestyle. SWB will reimburse 50% of a health club/gym membership for the employee only up to $50 per month of reimbursed benefit.
HEALTH SAVINGS ACCOUNT (HSA)
If enrolled in one of our medical plans, you are eligible to contribute into a HSA where Southway Builders also makes an annual contribution.
AUTO ALLOWANCE
Southway Builders offers a competitive auto allowance to all Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents.
401K PLAN
Southway Builders offers a 401k Safe Harbor Profit Sharing plan. Employee contributions and employer matching contributions are 100% immediately vested. Southway matches employee contributions by:
100% up to 3%
50% from 3% up to 5% compensation
Profit Sharing is discretionary and follows a graduated discretionary schedule.
TUITION ASSISTANCE
Southway Builders encourages employee development and recognizes that it is advantageous to both the employee and the company. SWB will reimburse all or a portion of the cost of the educational class/seminar expense(s) to employees with two (2) or more years of continuous service for the cost of job-related classes/seminars after successful completion.
EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EAP)
The EAP provides you and your household members with free, confidential, in-the-moment support to assist with personal and professional problems that may interfere with work or family responsibilities.
